Welcome

Welcome to the City of Brechin Mercury Signs and Designs Pipe Band Website.

The band as its name suggests is located in the cathedral town of Brechin in the east coast of Scotland in between Dundee and Aberdeen .

The City of Brechin Mercury Signs and Designs Pipe Band is a registered member of the RSPBA and competes in Grade 3A.  In 2006 the band gained Registered Charity Status and in 2008 a Grade 4 feeder band was created to promote the development of learners of the pipes and drums.

The Grade 3 band currently practices on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 10.00pm (although recently this has been changed to Thursdays and every 3rd Sunday to accommodate the band’s student fraternity). The Grade 4 band practices on Wednesday nights from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and Sunday afternoon. The band meets in the Pipeband Hall which can be found next to Brechin Leisure Centre, at the junction of Witchden and River Street, Brechin, DD9 7HQ.

Any player regardless of age or ability is always made welcome at the band practices, but they should contact Paul McAndrew (Band Manager) in the first instance.
